The National Police have arrested J.O.A.D., 24 years old and with no police record, in Arrecife as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force. After entering the house through a window, this young man "entered one of the bedrooms with a flashlight, at which point the owner woke up and called for help," the police force reports. The detainee was brought to judicial disposition and has been released with charges.
The police action was triggered after a woman called 091, who heard her brother calling for help from an adjoining room in a house in Arrecife. The agents who went to the scene surprised J.O.A.D. "hurriedly leaving the area", but were able to catch up with him.
"After interviewing the owner of the house, he told them how moments before he had woken up startled by the light of a flashlight, carried by an individual who left the place quickly when he was surprised," the police statement narrates.
The agents searched the house and found a broken shutter and several damaged bushes in the garden, the remains of which, they point out, "were also found on the clothes of the individual previously detained".
For all these reasons, the police officers arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force. Once the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his release with charges. The Police have detailed that the intervention was carried out by members of the Local Citizen Security Brigade of the Arrecife Police Station.
