Six months after the alleged events that will be judged next Wednesday, another minor reported being sexually assaulted after becoming pregnant. On June 15, the Provincial Court of Las Palmas was scheduled to try Naffa S.S., a 53-year-old Mauritanian national, for these events. However, the trial was postponed and is expected to be held in November. The Prosecutor's Office is asking for 9 years in prison for a crime of sexual assault and compensation of 70,000 euros for moral damages.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the events took place in January 2010, when Naffa S.S. was at the home of the minor, 15 years of age, in Tías, performing "pipe repair tasks." There, the prosecutor says, the accused approached the girl "with the aim of having sexual relations."
The prosecutor points out that, despite "the minor's opposition," the accused managed to immobilize her by grabbing her "by the arms." "After stripping her of the clothes she was wearing, he lowered his pants and, acting with libidinous intent, vaginally penetrated her, ejaculating inside," the Public Prosecutor's Office adds. The minor, according to the prosecutor, reported the events upon discovering that she had become pregnant.
The accused has been in provisional detention since then.
