A man has been arrested in Arrecife accused of fraud after spending five nights in a luxury hotel in the south of Gran Canaria and trying to pay the bill with a bank card without funds, according to the newspaper La Provincia.
The man, K.J.V.O., 21 years old and with a police record, left unpaid a bill of more than 900 euros and was arrested in the capital of Lanzarote, it is indicated in a note.
The events were triggered after the complaint of the person in charge of the reception of a luxury hotel, located in the tourist area of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, who stated that a young man had stayed at the hotel for five nights and presented a bank card that turned out to have no funds. Police efforts allowed the individual to be located in the capital of Lanzarote, where he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of fraud.
Subsequently, the police officers verified that the individual also had a current judicial claim, by a court of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
