According to investigation sources, apparently a man of Spanish nationality entered the Banca March bank office, located in the Marina Rubicón Sports Port (Playa Blanca) at gunpoint. The robbery occurred on the morning of this Thursday and so far no arrests have been made by the police forces.
It would be an individual of about 40 years old who, equipped with a motorcycle helmet that covered his face, broke into the office early in the morning and, brandishing a gun he was carrying, threatened an employee whom he forced to hand over the available money.
An amount that could amount to 13,000 euros, according to initial information, the sources said, who specified, in any case, that they did not yet have the exact figure officially confirmed.
They added that as soon as the robbery was known, shortly after it was committed, agents of the Yaiza Local Police, as well as the Civil Guard, began investigations and searches in the area with the intention of finding the whereabouts of its perpetrator, although their investigations have not yielded results, for the moment
The area director of the banking entity, Pedro Manrique, declined to make statements about it, although he confirmed that "a small mishap had occurred, although of reduced dimensions", without any personal injury to regret.
