The vice-president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, who attended the start along with the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón, and the Minister of the Presidency, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, among other public officials; was in charge of starting the women's elite category.

“It is a source of pride for Lanzarote and La Graciosa to see not only the participants, but also the hundreds of fans who gathered early in the morning,” assured the vice-president, who took the opportunity to thank Club La Santa for “the effort and dedication in organizing this event for thirty-four editions”.

Juan Monzón, for his part, highlighted “the effort, sacrifice, and perseverance of all the participants”. “Lanzarote hosts what is, without a doubt, one of the toughest races on the world calendar. It is a source of pride for all Lanzaroteans to have the elite of triathlon in our land,” pointed out the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, who also thanked everyone who makes this event possible, from the human team of the Insular Sports Service, the collaborating companies; the public organizations involved, and the volunteers who collaborate along the route.

After midday on Saturday, we will know who becomes the iron man and iron woman, who will also be on the champions' walk that the Insular Sports Service recently inaugurated next to the statue of Kenneth Gasque.
