A house full of garbage and belongings has suffered a fire this Monday afternoon in Playa Honda. The fire occurred around 4:30 p.m. in a house between Mástil Street and the esplanade near the Guacimeta airport.

A woman lives in this house who, apparently, suffers from Diogenes syndrome, according to sources from the San Bartolomé Local Police and firefighters. Recently, the City Council had to act on this house and took several trucks of garbage and belongings from inside it, but apparently it had accumulated again.

Seeing the smoke, the neighbors quickly called 112, who alerted the firefighters. Two fire trucks have arrived to the area, as well as several patrols from the Local Police of San Bartolomé.

The firefighters have entered the house and, equipped with hoses, have managed to put out the fire. In the house, they have found several gas cylinders, which luckily have not been reached by the flames.

The woman has not suffered any injuries in this fire and has not required medical assistance.
