A 47-year-old motorcyclist who was under the influence of alcohol fell off his motorcycle during midday this past Thursday on the Rambla Medular of Arrecife. According to the complaint filed by a passerby with the National Police, the man was traveling with a minor and after suffering a fall and hearing how the driver allegedly asked the child to return to the vehicle, the passerby told the minor not to get on with him in those conditions. After that, the driver allegedly attacked the complainant.
At the time of the events, around 2:30 p.m., a passerby noticed the situation and realized that the man was under the influence of alcohol. Specifically, he fell next to the crosswalk on Chafari Street, near the roundabout, according to information added by the Local Police.
An ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service, agents from the Local Police, and agents from the National Police were dispatched to the area. The man was tried in a quick trial held on Friday morning for a crime against road safety, after presenting a blood alcohol level of 0.81 mg/l.
The man suffered a slight scrape in the fall, but did not need to be taken to the hospital.
