A water tank of Canal Gestión de Maneje has suffered a break causing a large flood. The event took place at about 6:00 p.m. this Saturday. According to what they have explained from the Consortium, "about 16,000 tons of water have left the tank causing a large flood."
Canal Gestión Lanzarote has sent a statement reporting that the supply of drinking water has been interrupted in the municipalities of Teguise and Haría until further notice as a result of the serious failure that has affected the two impulsion lines that affect these two municipalities.
"The two mentioned municipalities are affected, with the exception of the towns of Costa Teguise, Caleta de Famara, Tao, Soo and Muñique, where the supply service continues to function normally," they point out from the company. These two impulsion lines have been rendered unusable by the fall of one of the walls of the four head tanks of Maneje on them. Finally, they explain that the operators of Canal Gestión Lanzarote are already undertaking its repair.
The firefighters have searched the area to see if any person or animal had been dragged by the waters, fortunately they have not found anything.
