The "masterful" interpretation of the song 'Rise Like a Phoenix' helped young Carlos Santana Sánchez to be proclaimed winner of the La Asomada Song Festival in its second edition.

A packed auditorium followed on Sunday night the performances of the 15 contestants who presented themselves to this new edition of the festival within the patron saint festivities in honor of San José Obrero, the highest number of contestants in the two editions of the contest. Carlos Santana gave "a great performance, with powerful musical registers", interpreting the famous song that earned the Austrian singer Conchita Wurst the triumph of the 59th Eurovision Song Contest. The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, presented the winner of this second edition of the festival with the prize, a check for 350 euros and a trophy.

The second prize, endowed with 250 euros and a trophy, went to Sergio Alexander Pérez García, who performed the song 'All of My', while the teenager Lidia Parra Manrique won the third prize, endowed with a check of 150 euros and a trophy, for her musical interpretation of the song 'Fight Song', by the artist Rachel Platten. Together with the mayor of Tías, the councilors of Festivities and Youth, Francisco Javier Aparicio Betancort, and Nerea Santana Alonso, respectively, presented the awards.

During the deliberation of the members of the jury, a dance company performed with the exhibition of several pieces of flamenco and Spanish dance, and the winner of the first edition of 2017, who was also a member of the jury in this 2018, Jennifer Hernández Rodríguez. The festival was presented by the announcer of the Municipal Radio of Tías, Ruíz Rodríguez.
