Tías will celebrate its festivities in honor of San Antonio with theater, musicals and concerts

The festival committee and the Town Hall have prepared an extensive program for all ages with prior reservation and anti-covid prevention measures

The activities in honor of San Antonio, organized by the festival committee and sponsored by the Tías Town Hall, will begin next Thursday with a concert by the Lanzarote tenor Pancho Corujo and will continue until June 13, the patron saint's day, with theater, musicals, storytelling, workshops, book presentations and concerts.

The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Festivities, Sergio García, have expressed their satisfaction at having the possibility of celebrating these festivities in person, with an extensive program planned for all ages, although with the need to reserve a place to follow the anti-covid-19 prevention measures.

The Tías Municipal Theater will host the concert by tenor Pancho Corujo on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. with Rubén Fernández on piano and a varied repertoire, which includes a tribute to Gayarre and songs on Galician texts. The children's show “Palabra de duende” (Word of Goblin), with puppets and stories, will take place on Friday at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Theater with free place reservation through www.ecoentradas.com. For Saturday at 7:00 p.m., the performance of the Escape Theater company with the humor and drama play “Cabaret Misterio” (Mystery Cabaret) has been scheduled at the Municipal Theater. On Tuesday, June 8, the presentation of the book "Taro" by its author, Isabel Cabrera, will take place. The event, which requires registration by email [email protected], will take place in the Salón Indieras at 5:30 p.m. At 8:00 p.m., in the Tías Municipal Theater and under registration in the same email, the end-of-year exhibition of the adolescent students of the Lanzarote Center for Performing Arts will be offered with the play “Entre risas anda el juego” (The game goes on amid laughter).

The group of adult students from the Lanzarote Center for Performing Arts will perform on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. with the play “El sueño de Lorca” (Lorca's Dream). Also on Wednesday, at 4:30 p.m., various children's workshops organized by the Maramar association will be held at the Magec Tías club headquarters. On Friday at 5:00 p.m., storytelling will be offered in the hermitage of San Antonio under registration at [email protected] and at 8:00 p.m. the concert “Vivir es hoy” (Living is today) will take place in the Municipal Theater, by Ciro Corujo and Almudena Hernández. The weekend activities will begin on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with simultaneous chess at the hermitage of San Antonio under registration at [email protected] and will continue at 7:00 p.m. with the show “Taro”, by the narrator Isabel Cabrera in the Municipal Theater. On Sunday, June 13, the day of San Antonio, the religious service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the church of San Antonio de Tías.
