The tenors Manuel Estupiñán, Ciro Corujo and Pedro Manuel Afonso conquer the public in the Charco de San Ginés

They performed the musical "A recognition of the figure of the symphonic singer", in an act framed in the patron saint festivities of the capital

The Charco de San Ginés hosted this Monday the musical show "A Recognition of the Figure of the Symphonic Singer", an original project by the tenors Manuel Estupiñán, Ciro Corujo and Pedro Manuel Afonso.

The act conquered the numerous public that completely filled the allowed capacity on a summer night with an ideal climate, which served to give even more prominence to the show.

The concert began with an instrumental piece to which the three tenors were added. After the overture, the musicians performed melodies of diverse origins such as tango or bolero, as well as traditional Canarian songs.

After the overture, the tenors, Manuel Estupiñán, Ciro Corujo and Pedro Manuel Afonso, unleashed their tuned and powerful voices and, for ninety minutes, gave their all on stage, surrounded by a devoted audience that did not stop applauding each of the songs.

The tenors performed songs such as “La Perla”, “Pinar de Tamadaba” or “La noche en Arguineguín”, also winking at Latin America with songs from Argentina, Venezuela or Mexico, without forgetting the Canarian songs with folías, mazurka, sorondongo and seguidillas.

A singer is someone who carries a message through song, and is someone who feels in some way united to an origin, to a people, to a certain people. However, he also feels that his message is universal and connects with that of other singers, with another origin, another people and other people.

When the concert was coming to an end, Manuel, Ciro and Pedro Manuel performed the song "Patria Canaria", a composition by the singer Braulio García, from Santa María de Guía, receiving the applause of the public, who standing asked them to continue, ending with an encore to the rhythm of sorondongo.

After the concert, the signing of the album, which includes some of the songs they performed in the concert, took place. The Councilor for Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, Encarna Páez, congratulated the tenors and their entire team for the “magnificent performance that has given great prominence to the San Ginés festivities”.
