The winners of the 1st Drawing Contest “Water is in danger” organized by Canal Gestión Lanzarote to commemorate World Water Day 2023 are already known. An event framed in the awareness campaign “The power is in your hand”, currently in force. The objective is to "delve into the necessary awareness that leads us all, especially the new generations, to adopt daily gestures that allow us to protect water and maintain a reasonable consumption of the liquid element".

Students from the 1st and 2nd cycle of Primary school from the island's educational centers could participate in the contest.
Finally, the jury, formed by: Florentina Alonso Betancor, director of the CEP Lanzarote; Carlos Cabrera, administration technician of the Water Consortium of Lanzarote; Ainhoa Romero, Head of Quality and Management Systems of Canal Gestión Lanzarote; Beatriz Tejera, Head of Human Resources of the water company; Montserrat Santacruz, from the Administration and Finance department of CGL; and meeting yesterday, after analyzing and evaluating the 273 works presented, have issued their decision in the two categories contemplated:

Category A (1st cycle -1st and 2nd Primary)
- 1st Prize: Julen Vicente Tavío Castellano, 1st year student of Primary school from CEIP Yaiza.
- 2nd Prize: Aaron Fusar Inthamaussu, 2nd year student of Primary school from CEIP Playa Blanca.
- 3rd Prize: Enoa García Guevez, 1st year student of Primary school from CEO Playa Blanca.
Category B (2nd cycle -3rd and 4th of Primary)
- 1st Prize: Sofía Carvajal Hernández, 4th year student of Primary school from CEIP Costa Teguise
- 2nd Prize: Sofía Aylen Sousa-Rossi, 3rd year student of Primary school from CEIP Yaiza.
- 3rd Prize: Julia Rodríguez Tavío, 4th year student of Primary school from CEIP Yaiza
After the contest, the jury agreed that "the average level of the students is satisfactory", "developing the basic objective "more than enough" in this first call." that intended, as stated in its bases, "that children give solutions through the perspective offered by their ages, through their own artistic expression and creativity, thus promoting awareness and sensitization around the relationship we must maintain with water."

Among some of the criteria that have been taken into account to deliberate, "the absence of alleged adult intervention that could be detectable; suitability of creativity according to the age of the students considering innocence or spontaneity; or the manifest relationship with the theme of the contest" stand out.
On the other hand, the jury, as well as the company Canal Gestión Lanzarote itself, wishes to highlight, recognize and thank the work carried out by the teachers of the participating educational centers to properly guide and motivate their students. In total, the participating educational centers have been: CEO Playa Blanca, CEIP Playa Blanca, CEIP Yaiza, CEIP Virgen de Los Volcanes de Tinajo, and CEIP Costa Teguise.
In the coming weeks, Canal Gestión Lanzarote will proceed to deliver the determined prizes to the winners. The Prizes consist of: a bicycle and a book for the first prize winners; scooter and book for the second, and bodyboard and book for the third places.
