The César Manrique hall of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife hosted last Wednesday a talk entitled "Childhood, Youth and Adolescence: For the Right to Grow in Well-being", organized by the association El Cribo.

The event began with the reading of the manifesto for the "World Mental Health Day" that this year is celebrated under the slogan "Like Mental Health" and read Juan Gabriel Quintana representative of the Committee in First Person.

A continuación, the Choir of El Cribo Canta directed by Professor Arnold Bonilla interpreted popular songs such as El Reloj, Piel Canela, La Flor de la Canela some of them included in the album "Sueños".

Subsequently, the awards of the contest corresponding to the "30th Anniversary" were announced. In the Short Stories section, the prize went to Reyes María Concepción with the work "Tres en el Ascensor", in the photography section it went to Sheila Caraballo Rodríguez with the work "Duality (Body-Mind). The prizes consist of 300 euros and a sculpture.

Next, the talk "Childhood, Youth and Adolescence" was given by the psychiatrist Julio Santiago Obeso and the professor of Secondary and Baccalaureate Francisco José Santana Gutiérrez. A talk of great interest that was followed by the adult public and young people who filled the capacity of the hall where they discussed very interesting topics such as the excessive use of screens, boredom and demotivation, the lack of face-to-face relationship with friends, fears and anxiety, isolation from the family, lack of physical exercise, frustration, bulimia etc. The most demanded by young people is the lack of psychologists because teachers are very saturated with their tasks and are not prepared to assume that mission exclusively for qualified professionals.

The Minister of Social Welfare of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Isabel Martín Tenorio was present at the event.
