A total of twenty pets paraded this Thursday with their owners on the catwalk of the Playa Blanca Canine Carnival. The queen of the afternoon was Noa, a four-year-old Weimaraner, who captivated the jury with her grace and fantasy, in addition to the innate elegance of the breed, to win the first prize in the costume contest endowed with a basket of gifts for your well-being.

The event takes the opportunity to remember that there are other animals without owners in the Yaiza shelter, who are looking for an adoption family, and that they also participated in the party pampered by volunteers from the Doggys del Sur protectora, thus, the Playa Blanca Canine Carnival is a very festive but also sensitizing meeting on the responsible ownership of animals.

"In Playa Blanca, glamorous little princesses, superheroes, dancers, divers, gardens and many other fantasies paraded, showing the ingenuity of the pet owners who dared to match their pets, as Gema and Aythami did next to their beloved Noa interpreting 'family of the west'", said the Yaiza consistory.

After the costume exhibition, the applause of the public, the voices of support and the consensus meeting of the jury, we learned the name of the winner and all the dogs of the honor roll of the Canine Carnival that this 2024 carries the allegorical banner of the animal world.

In their order, Noa was accompanied on the podium by the dogs Cloe and Shaman and their fantasy 'divers', Antony with 'Hawaiian pizzas', the couple Ares and Luki with 'Marshall and Chace' and Destentao and Canela who showed the fantasy 'peasant hunting bats', in addition to the dog Katy, deserving of the special prize for her spark holding 'bichoza'. Everyone was given a gift basket.

The Councilor for Animal Welfare of Yaiza, Águeda Cedrés, thanks the participation of the pets and their owners "who encouraged a happy, very participatory and fraternizing day, but above all because through their example of love they demonstrate day after day the responsibility in animal care."

Playa Blanca experienced a gala of imagination and tenderness presented by the magician José Ángel, so the Canine Carnival is already a powerful event within the carnival festivities of the first tourist center of Lanzarote. The Yaiza City Council publicly values the support of the collaborating entities: Agrícolas Tamia, Guardería Mucha Chispa, Pet Soul pet store, Veterinario Playa Blanca and Veterinario San Lázaro.
