The Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Church of the Villa de Teguise became, once again, the epicenter of one of the oldest Christmas traditions in the Canary Islands, thanks to the participation of the Rancho de Pascua de Teguise, which this Christmas wanted to pay tribute to Benjamín Díaz.

"This is a public acknowledgment, because our activity at Christmas is enriched by the grandeur of the Nativity Scene and the preparations made by Benjamín inside the church," they stated from the group.

The Rancho de Pascua de Teguise has highlighted "his love and affection for everything that was done inside the Church of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, and the Ermita de Las Nieves, which was born from observing the work of the Sacristan, Rafael Cabrera. Thanks to Benjamín assuming his role upon Rafael's death, the great artistic works that he carried out in the different festivities of the Parish were not lost, and thus Christmas, the festival of Las Nieves, Holy Week and the rest of the religious acts, continue with the same splendor as before," they assure.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, attended the event, and personally congratulated Benjamín Díaz and the members of the musical group, for "representing a tradition that reflects deep social values and for keeping alive one of our hallmarks." "Very proud as a Teguise native to be able to accompany the oldest Rancho in the Canary Islands for another Christmas on this special night," said Betancort.
