The municipality of San Bartolomé is gradually resuming its cultural agenda. Its mayor, Alexis Tejera, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture Isidro Pérez, and the Councilor of the Cabildo, Alberto Aguiar, presented this Wednesday the program that will be developed under "strict safety standards" in different public spaces that will have limited capacity and prior allocation, but that will keep culture active. The mayor highlighted the importance of resuming municipal cultural life, which "will keep us active, albeit with strict security measures, for the next two months." Likewise, Tejera thanked the daily work of the municipal groups, such as the Coral and the Band, as well as the first-rate artists, folklorists, theater groups, reading clubs, etc., who "happily look at this agenda" that San Bartolomé offers to the citizens.

For his part, the Councilor for Culture, Isidro Pérez, outlined the program, encouraging participation in it and thanking all the people involved and participants. Words to which the Councilor for Culture of the Cabildo, Alberto Aguiar, added, who pointed out the importance of resuming culture but with prudence. Likewise, Aguiar congratulated the City Council for this commitment "that highlights the great artists that the municipality has."

The sale of tickets and the collection of invitations will be done one week before each event. All events have limited capacity and pre-assigned seats and, according to the City Council, "strict compliance" with the Covid protocol will be followed. The program is organized by the San Bartolomé City Council in collaboration with the Cabildo, both through the Culture area and the CACT, whose CEO, Benjamín Perdomo, could not be present at the event, the councilors thanking the collaboration of the area he directs.


Programming

The agenda will begin on Thursday, November 5 with the Reading Club in the Bodeguita de la Casa Cerdeña at 6:00 p.m., an event whose entrance will be free but will have limited capacity and requires prior registration through [email protected].

From here, there will be a succession of varied performances and activities, such as the Maru Cabrera concert, whose tickets are already sold out, which will take place on Sunday, November 8 at Casa Ajei.

On Friday, November 13, it will be the turn of Letters for the Soul with 'Canarian Voices in Half Light', at 7:00 p.m., in the Bodeguita de la Casa Cerdeña; while on Friday, November 20, at 8:30 p.m., the play 'Crazy for Love' will be staged, by the Chespir Theater Company, at the San Bartolomé Theater.

On Sunday, November 22, at 12:30 p.m., Casa Ajei will host 'Ajei Road', a tribute concert by the Rubber Beatles Band; and on Tuesday, November 24, 'Words' will be celebrated, a reading aloud by Friends of the Word of Playa Honda, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Aula of Plaza Santa Elena.

The theater company SomoS will perform 'In the Ring of Life' on November 27, at 8:30 p.m., at the San Bartolomé Theater, to which Bohemia Lanzarote will bring the show 'Let Yourself Be Surprised' on November 28, at 9:00 p.m. The San Bartolomé Theater will also host the benefit concert 'Teguey, by your side' on December 5, at 9:00 p.m.

A day later, on Sunday, December 6, the Farmer's Monument will be the stage for a Beneficial Lyric Gala by Pancho Corujo (tenor), Belén Elvira (mezzo-soprano) and Juan Antonio Álvarez Parejo (pianist), which will take place at 12:00 hours.

The Municipal Band and the San Bartolomé Choir are also part of the municipal agenda with respective concerts on December 11 and 17, at 8:30 p.m., at the Municipal Theater. This space will also host the presentation of the novel 'And suddenly...Me', by Ibán Bermúdez on December 22, at 8:00 p.m., in a charity event in favor of AFOL.

Finally, on Sunday, December 27, at 7:30 p.m., Palabras al Vuelo will disembark at the San Bartolomé Theater with 'Looking at Each Other', a collective show with the storytellers of the 2020 edition.
