The San Bartolomé City Council, through the Department of Culture, wanted to commemorate International Book Day and has programmed a series of activities related to letters. Authors who wish to share their literature and bring their stories to the public: Ignacio Romero ('Corners of Lanzarote'), Fefo García ('El Criaíto'), Carlos Battaglini ('I'm leaving here'), Laura Curbelo ('Alma, the turtle that lost her calm') and Elías Ramos ('Sintigo').
Voice, lyrics, verse and narration are different genres that will reach children in the form of playful workshops, aimed at the youngest and also at adults, in the interpretation of narrators such as Cristina Temprano or Bonaí Capote. Music and dance will also be present, continuing with the editorial line of achieving a transversal program where different artistic disciplines are mixed.
This weekend, the Municipal Theater opened its doors to receive two events of great cultural importance. On Friday there was a masterful talk-colloquium: 'The voice of Natalia Sosa from didactics', by Professor Blanca Hernández, included within this month of the book.

On the occasion of the Letras Canarias distinction, which this year has gone to the author Natalia Sosa, as well as the presentation of the book 'Soy éxodo y llegada', the professor from the ULPGC, Blanca Hernández, gave an interesting talk-colloquium. Through a didactic staging, she structured the feeling of that more unknown Natalia Sosa and the depth of her writing. A literary song to make diversity visible. "Natalia Sosa Ayala claims, through her poetry, the visibility and integration of a body that society considers abject due to its homosexual condition, and this feeling structures and gives meaning to her work. Her discourse subverts the normative gaze to expand literary references, necessary to make diversity visible," it was stated.
On Saturday, the 'Gran Partita' concert was held, by the Youth Orchestra of the Canary Islands (JOCAN) as part of the tour of the eight islands, in chamber format, under the direction of Maximiliano Martín. The repertoire drew applause from the public with a single work, the Serenade No. 10 for winds, known as 'Gran Partita' by W. A. Mozart.
The program continues with events for all audiences. You can access all the activities for free, with prior registration, either at www.ecoentradas.com; or in different activities in which invitations can be collected at the email [email protected]. All events will comply with the strict sanitary measures of capacity and prevention established by the health authorities, according to the City Council.
