Respecting the legacy inherited from their elders and thus complying with tradition, the residents of the town of Mácher met with the hangover of Christmas Eve on Christmas Day at 12 noon in the church of San Pedro to participate in the Eucharist presided over by the parish priest of the municipality of Tías, always at the service of the parishioners, Adrián Sosa.

The special celebration of the "Birth of the Child Jesus" was enlivened by the participation of the Rancho de Pascuas de Mácher, led by the young professor Juanma Morales. The group is made up of women and men who enthusiastically participate in the different parts of the Eucharist, ending their performance with the moment of the "Besapiés", an act in which the children present in the church have preference when participating in it, with the complicity of the celebrating priest.

After the Eucharist, all the attendees moved to the social hall of the Socio-Cultural Center of Mácher to taste the long-awaited broth prepared with such care and, as our elders say, the best medicine to "settle the mothers" of the hangover. In addition, you could also taste traditional homemade sweets such as trout, pestiños, roscos and some sponge cake. A very special day that the residents of Mácher continue with the legacy of their elders and thus relive every Christmas.
