This Sunday, the awards ceremony of the Réplica 2018 Awards, which recognizes the most outstanding works of the year in the performing arts in the Canary Islands, was held at the Capitol Auditorium of Tacoronte (Tenerife).
Samuel Aguilar, a composer born in Lanzarote, turned out to be the winner among the six finalists with the award for Best Sound Space for his work for Dulces Bestias, a contemporary dance show directed by Roberto Torres and performed by Paloma Hurtado, Paula Quintana and Daniel Morales.
Dulces Bestias, from the Nómada Company, is the first production of the Insular Center for Performing Arts of Tenerife and turned out to be the great winner of this year at the Réplica Awards, since in addition to the award given to Aguilar, it added four other awards: Best Costume, Best Lighting, Best Performer and Best Show.
Fortunately, on the island we will be able to enjoy this award-winning work very soon, since it will be performed next March in the Auditorium of the Jameos del Agua.
Samuel Aguilar, who was recently nominated for Best Soundtrack for Documentary at the prestigious Fimucité awards for his music for the documentary El Huído, is undoubtedly one of the most requested and prolific composers in the islands. This award strengthens and further consolidates his important work as a composer specialized in performing arts, having composed to date the original music for more than 30 dance and theater shows, as well as for film, documentaries, sound installations, etc.
