La Bodeguita de la Casa Cerdeña, in San Bartolomé, inaugurated a new exhibition last Friday. This is the exhibition 'Current Faces of Lanzarote', which includes the work of the artist, art teacher and mural designer Virginie Jourdant.
'Current Faces of Lanzarote' is an exhibition of 20 portraits of different characters from the island, made in large-format acrylic. The exhibition will be open to the public from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until February 12.
During the inauguration, the painter highlighted that "the strokes are made with very bright and striking colors, with the reflection of their own energy captured in each of them, representing anonymous women who constitute essential pillars of society such as mothers, grandmothers, teachers, professors, nurses and lawyers, among others."
The inauguration ceremony was attended by David Rocío, Councilor for Tourism of the San Bartolomé City Council, who invited people to see the work of the French woman Virginie Jourdant, exhibited in a space as intimate as the Bodeguita. Rocío highlighted that the painter "expresses, through these portraits, her great passion for art, leaving the emotion latent in the paintings, which will not leave the public who visit the exhibition indifferent."
