The program 'Island Christmas' continues touring the municipalities of Lanzarote. Last Saturday morning, the residents of Haría and visitors were pleasantly surprised while visiting the famous Traditional Market.
Not only did they enjoy the good atmosphere in the surroundings of the square, but they could also enjoy the large embassy that moved from different parts of the island, filling the northern air with the traditional music and dances of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands.
On this occasion, the Gaida Folk Group from the municipality of Tías, the Guanapay Folk Group and the Parranda de Los Valles, both from the municipality of Teguise, also participated, as well as the Parranda P'al Porrón, formed by members from different municipalities.
The public was able to enjoy the songs and dances of the folk groups such as folías, isas, seguidillas, sorondongos and malagueñas. While with the parrandas they could listen to more parranderas and danceable songs, also winking at the occasional Christmas carol.
The four cultural associations with their good work made Saturday morning at the Traditional Market of Haría different, savoring traditional music and dances. Moments like these are the ones that must be promoted in order to motivate each of the groups that every time they are given the opportunity to leave the rehearsal places give everything, always leaving the flag of our traditions very high.
