Hundreds of pilgrims dressed in typical costumes and decorated carts participated in the XXVII Pilgrimage in honor of San Juan Bautista in Haría.

After 7:00 p.m., the pilgrimage departed from the vicinity of the cemetery, touring the central streets of the town of Haría. Folk groups, parrandas, groups of friends and decorated carts brought color and rhythm to a day in which many, after almost a year, met again and gave each other a hug. Everyone joining their voices while sharing the products typical of a pilgrimage such as pejines, dates, sponge cake donuts, kneaded gofio pella, mantecados, sponge cakes and mimos, all washed down with homemade liqueurs and good Lanzarote wine.

The first musical chords to the tour of the streets of the town were set by the Folklore School of the Haría City Council, followed by the Los Labradores Cultural Association, the El Lagar de Teseguite Parranda, the Altaja Typical Dance Association, the Guagime Folk Group, the Pal Porrón Parranda, the Malpaís de la Corona Folk Group, the Raíces de Cenicientos Group from Madrid, closing the Clotilde Verde Parranda.

Everyone was very animated throughout the tour, singing the most parranderos rhythms and the most traditional dances. Upon arriving at the square and next to the church, the Patron Saint San Juan Bautista awaited them, to whom they offered their offerings, some materialized with non-perishable products and others with their songs and dances. The parish priest of the municipality, Norberto Medina, who was next to the image of San Juan Bautista, thanked everyone for their generosity with their offerings, which will be destined to the neediest families in the municipality.

Once the offerings were finished, the Romero Dance began, enlivened by the Parranda Pal Porrón, which lasted until the early hours of the morning. In the course of it, the names of the carriers of the awarded carts were announced, with the first prize valued at 350 euros going to Álvaro Morales, the second prize valued at 150 euros going to Héctor Reyes.

Every year during the dance, the Romera and Romero Mayor are chosen, titles that went to Esther Sánchez and Luis Hernández. The newly elected mayor of the municipality of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, and the councilor, Paula Montero, presented them with the accrediting artisan gift.
