This Sunday morning, the squares of Los Leones and La Mareta in the Historic and Artistic Site of Teguise were filled with life and tradition with the performance of the Guagime de Tahíche Folk Group. This event, which attracted hundreds of visitors, was a vibrant celebration of Canarian folklore.

Under the musical direction of Professor Fefo Pérez and the dance direction of Desiré Hernández, the group presented a repertoire that included folías, seguidillas, siote palmero and isa del uno, among others. The attendees, fascinated by the traditional Lanzarote clothing of the 18th and 19th centuries, did not stop capturing the moment with their cameras and mobiles.

Each performance was received with warm applause, and at the end, the members of the dance troupe invited visitors to join them, creating an atmosphere of joy and participation.

The Guagime Folk Group, linked to the Municipal School of Folklore of Teguise, has represented its municipality and Lanzarote in numerous cultural events, pilgrimages and festivals both in the Canary Islands and in various regions of Spain. This year, they have celebrated their XIII Festival in honor of their patrons Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana.

The Guagime family was very satisfied with the reception from the public, who rewarded them with applause and expressions of affection, consolidating once again their commitment to the preservation and dissemination of Canarian folklore.
