The grant plan for the rehabilitation of private homes in the municipality of San Bartolomé for 2022 and 2023 is being “a great success”, the mayor of the municipality, Isidro Pérez, has highlighted.
The Councilor for Housing, Marlene Romero, explained on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that “30 applications have already been admitted and that every day there are many inquiries from residents of San Bartolomé”. The City Council estimates that “many more applications” will be submitted. The call, which opened on August 5, will remain in effect for the next three months.
The main purpose of this call, a pioneer on the island of Lanzarote, is the rehabilitation or adaptation of privately owned homes to maintain the minimum conditions of habitability, energy consumption savings, structural elements and all those works necessary for their proper maintenance.
In addition, the mayor of San Bartolomé explained that the rehabilitation works will also include improvements in accessibility and autonomy in the use of homes for people with functional disabilities or reduced mobility".
The plan consists of two types of grants. Up to four thousand euros for single-family homes and in the case of collective residence buildings the maximum amount amounts to eight thousand euros.
To be beneficiaries of the aid, applicants must reside and be registered in the municipality of San Bartolomé and own a regular home located in the center of the municipality.
