Most human resources directors in the country acknowledge having problems when it comes to recruiting talent, according to a report by the temporary employment company Adecco.

A matter that the Canary archipelago is no stranger to, despite the fact that, according to the latest Active Population Survey, the unemployment rate amounts to 14.6%.

According to the aforementioned temporary employment company, in addition to professionals in the various fields of hospitality, the Canary Islands has a large deficit of handling personnel at airports, an activity that includes auxiliary services for airplanes, passengers and the cargo of the aircraft.

In addition to handling personnel, the other most demanded profile in the archipelago, apart from hospitality, is that of vehicle drivers.

At the national level, Adecco points out shortcomings in the information technology and telecommunications sector. For years there has been a marked deficit of workers with training, since their demand grows exponentially and the study centers do not produce enough professionals to cover the positions that are generated.

The second sector with strong staffing needs throughout the country is the health sector. Professionals of all types and levels are needed: from assistants, nursing graduates, doctors, laboratory technicians, etc.

There are also difficulties in finding technical profiles, especially with FP qualifications, associated with the development of industry, such as electromechanical technicians, forklift operators, welders, operators for the food sector or maintenance technicians.
