Lanzarote registers a 14% drop in unemployment compared to June 2022

Unemployment decreased in June in municipalities such as Arrecife or San Bartolomé, while it grew slightly in Haría and Teguise

Unemployment in Lanzarote fell by 14% last June compared to June 2022, according to figures collected in the Lanzarote Data Center. Last month there were 8,286 unemployed, 1,352 less than in 2022 in that same month, which was 9,638.

A month of June in which it has also been decreasing with a 2.2% compared to the previous month, in which in May 2023 there were 8,473 unemployed, 187 less than in May 2022.

In relation to the municipalities of the island, last month in Arrecife there was a decrease of 133 unemployed compared to May 2023, in which there were 4,417. It also decreased in municipalities such as San Bartolomé, in which 940 people have been registered looking for work in June, 30 less than in May, the month in which there were 970.

In this trend towards decrease, Tías continues, with 834 people unemployed last June and 852 in May, with a figure of 18 less. Also in Tinajo there has been a slight decline in the figures, with 315 people last month, compared to 316 in May.

The last municipality to notice these decreases has been Yaiza, compared to June with 606 people unemployed, 18 less than this May, with 624 unemployed.

Unemployment rises in Haría and Teguise

In the municipality of Haría this month of June, there were 307 unemployed, compared to 297 in May, with an increase of ten people without work. While in the municipality of Teguise it also increased, but more slightly, in June with 1,000 unemployed compared to 997 in May.
