The second day of strike of air traffic controllers at the Lanzarote airport this Monday "is not causing incidents", according to Roberto Ruiz, spokesperson for SAERCO, the private company that manages the control tower of the Lanzarote airport, told La Voz.

Like last Monday, Ruiz confirms that "there is normality" in the César Manrique and that "the services have opened at the scheduled time and without incidents."

The strike, called by the USCA and CCOO unions, began last Monday, continues today and will continue next Monday, February 13, 20 and 27. The press officer of USCA, Marta Sanz, has denounced that "SAERCO is not complying with the minimum services" of 69% that the Ministry of Transport set for Lanzarote but is "convening 100% of the services".

The unions attribute the strike to the failure of the negotiations of the IV collective agreement of the sector.

In addition to the Lanzarote airport, this call is aimed at professionals who provide control services in the towers of the airports of A Coruña, Alicante-Elche, Castellón, Cuatro Vientos, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Jerez, La Palma, Lleida, Murcia, Sabadell, Seville, Valencia and Vigo.

These unions were negotiating the collective agreement with the business association APCTA, which includes the private suppliers of the liberalized market SAERCO and FerroNATS, but finally broke off negotiations.
