"Every day 30,000 children in the world die without having any option to choose if they want to study, work or what they want to do with their lives. You can choose, are you willing to do it?" This is how the talk that José Alonso Fleitas, businessman, professional trainer and coach, is giving these days in the Vocational Training educational centers of the island with the Cámara de Comercio de Lanzarote. begins.

This expert group motivator instills values such as self-confidence, commitment, setting goals and having a successful attitude to achieve the life they want and pursue their dreams with determination and, ultimately, to be happy. All this involves trusting that "the best job for life is entrepreneurship, because in the coming years the words employment, entrepreneurship and company will be the same thing", he has told these young people who are almost of legal age.

During this week the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce is making a round of visits to the centers of San Bartolomé, Haría, Tías and the Arrecife Fishing School. These days are part of the Program to Promote the Entrepreneurial Spirit in the classroom, an initiative of the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce, co-financed by the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Education. "It is about raising awareness among these young people of the opportunities offered by the creation of companies as an effective way to generate employment and improve their prospects of joining the labor market, once they finish their studies," explained the president of the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce, José Torres Fuentes.

"It is essential that institutions, often far from the social reality of the youngest, bet on them. It is also important to be with them from the beginning, encouraging them to obtain the best professional qualification so that they become future entrepreneurs who will generate employment and economic activity in our society in the coming years," he added.

Where do I start?

The Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce offers free information and advice for the creation of companies. "With this initiative we bring the Chamber closer to potential entrepreneurs. We tell them that the Chamber is there to help them, to inform them and to accompany them in the first steps," says President José Torres Fuentes.
