SEPLA denounces Binter for "confirming its intention to decrease the company for the benefit of third-party companies
The Binter SEPLA pilots' union, which is on strike with the company, has confirmed in a statement that "Binter intends to decrease the company for the benefit of third-party companies." After the meeting held this morning between the management of Binter Canarias, represented by the Director of External Relations and the company's external legal advisor, and the representatives of the Strike Committee, the company "has reaffirmed that its only will is the decrease of the company Binter and the growth of the company NAYSA and other possible companies, thus confirming each and every one of the reasons given by SEPLA in the call for strike", as stated in the statement.
Hide and confuse
SEPLA considers that Binter's managers "are trying to hide and confuse the Canarian society" about the real causes of the strike, so this union insists on explaining that they are related to "the disintegration of the Company and the subrogation of services with third-party companies, the transfer of own lines and aircraft to other companies; the freezing of the company's growth, by not hiring or promoting staff despite the growth of passengers and the market", among other issues.
Likewise, they remain on strike due to the "different public statements by the owners of Binter in which they question the survival of the company and the lack of a Future Plan".
