Bodegas Vega de Yuco celebrated its 25th anniversary this past weekend with an event organized at Finca Testeina, the latest wine tourism project the winery is embarking on to preserve the heritage of the island's wine, agricultural, cultural and heritage culture.
The event featured innovative wine tourism experiences, including a self-guided tour with augmented reality, through a mobile application through the more than ten points of interpretation that have been developed around the historic house, vineyards and Testeina volcano.
Coinciding with this important date, Vega de Yuco wanted to take advantage of this anniversary to present its new wine 'Princesa Fayna', the winery's first sparkling wine. A Brut Nature of Diego grape, made by the traditional method and aged for 30 months, with disgorgement date of March 2022. The commemorative wine of the 25th anniversary has a limited current production of only 600 bottles that are marketed, for the moment, in the geographical area of the Canary Islands.
Attendees could also enjoy a pioneering experience in the Canary Islands of musical pairing and synesthetic tasting of this new wine (with Wine Rhapsodies 360º system), a work presented by Samuel Miranda, creator and musician-composer from the Canary Islands of the work Princesa Fayna.
During the event, the winery made a brief tour of its history and background. 25 years marked by several relevant milestones in its journey since that April 23, 1997, the date on which it was established as a winery in a small warehouse in La Vegueta (Tinajo), specifically in the area of the "Maretón de Yuco" that gave it its name.
Finally, the celebration was paired with a special catering to liven up the stay, prepared by the renowned northern chef Nauzet Santana from the Puerto Bahía Restaurant of the Varadero of Puerto del Carmen.
