The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has issued a series of instructions for the organization of the operation of public and subsidized schools in the Canary Islands applicable from March 16 to 22, which may be extended.

The Order containing these indications establishes that the management teams of the centers will be organized to guarantee the continuity of administrative management and to facilitate cleaning, maintenance and works in progress and that, due to the extension of the deadlines of all administrative procedures in progress, the personnel responsible for them may take turns to guarantee said activity. Any other personnel of the educational administration that is necessary for the operation of the center will adjust to the instructions made for the teachers.

Likewise, to avoid crowds, telephone attention (prior appointment) and telematic attention (web) will be prioritized.

The educational centers, within their pedagogical autonomy and their organizational resources, will establish communication systems with the students for the continuity of learning (Moodle Platform, EVAGD, Google Classroom, Blogs, etc.) In order to maintain the development of the teaching-learning process as normalized as possible, measures will be adopted to address both the Public Health criteria decreed by the health authorities and the attention to students.

The teaching staff will organize their work in such a way that the actions that can be carried out without the need to go to the educational center are planned. During the period of suspension of classes, teachers will carry out online training activities, updating of professional competence, as well as those related to the use of virtual learning environments.

In this sense, the Ministry of Education will reinforce the offer of tutored distance education, update materials and resources -in this sense, teaching staff will be provided with a repository of 6000 digital educational resources available through the link that will be progressively expanded- and will enable a repository of type activities in the coming days.

In addition, a link and tutorial will be incorporated with the instructions to access the virtual learning environments through the virtual training platform EVAGD and advice will be provided to resolve any doubts or incidents related to these spaces through the email ate.ceu@gobiernodecanarias.org Likewise, permanent information will be offered from the Educational Innovation Area on the areas, programs, projects and initiatives in which teachers can participate.

In relation to the teaching staff who teach in teachings attached to the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Adult Education, they will use the telematic means and technological devices available (virtual spaces, emails and other shared tools), to promote tasks, activities or simulations that give continuity to the didactic programs and the teaching-learning process of the students.

Regarding FP and Adult Education, the non-interruption of administrative management is guaranteed and the elaboration of the projects in progress with open calls from the different departments of the Ministry and other administrations for their presentation in a timely manner by the Directorate of the Center, even if the approval by the collegiate bodies of the same is pending, such as innovation workshops, entrepreneurship awards, Dual FP projects, etc.

Said text determines that the members of the management teams are responsible for compliance with these instructions and for informing the educational community (teachers and families) of them, and establishes that any exception to these instructions will be adopted with the authorization of the corresponding Territorial Directorate.

As for private non-subsidized schools, they will adapt these indications, within the framework of their autonomy recogida in Organic Law 8/1985, of July 3, regulating the Right to Education.
