A neighbor has written to La Voz to complain about the state of neglect of some streets in the Arrecife neighborhood of Titerroy. This person assures that garbage and also some mattresses accumulate on the Martín Cobos promenade "in the middle of the street." "The other day a car couldn't avoid them and ran over them. It almost ran over several pedestrians who were leaving Los Pinos park at that moment. And hundreds of children pass through here daily to the Titerroy school that is next door," this neighbor warned.
This place has been taken by "many uncivilized neighbors" as a deposit of belongings, furniture, mattresses and wood. "It is rare the day that something like this does not appear thrown next to the containers," he insisted.
This person does not understand the "passivity and lack of solidarity of many people", since he recalls that with "a simple" telephone call to the City Council's collection service, they come "to look for it completely free of charge." "Why don't they use this service?" he asks.
In addition, he assures that they have removed the organic waste containers that were in this area to replace them with the new ones that the City Council is installing. "They have put them a few meters further up the street and there are still people who leave the garbage bags thrown on the ground for not having to walk a few meters more," he criticizes.
This neighbor hopes that people will become aware and comply with this series of rules. "If they are not willing to comply with them, let them go live in Risco de Famara," he suggests.
