Three families left the Fairgrounds this Tuesday during the second phase of the 'murgas' contest due to the presence of two Civil Protection dogs, as reported by a reader in the You Also Make LA VOZ section. Gema María Romero assures that two animals were "bothering" her daughter, who is also allergic to dogs.

Gema believes it is "positive" that there are rescue dogs from Civil Protection units, but she cannot explain why they were at the Fairgrounds, especially "given the crowds of people there." According to her, she went to the venue with her daughter and upon taking a seat, she saw two dogs walking around the tent.

"Their owner, with a cocky attitude, pushed me aside so he could pass, and my daughter was left on the other side, near the dog, which was unsociable and wouldn't stop growling," says this woman, who assures that the girl, due to nerves and her allergy, started to cry.

"I spent the whole night watching the dog so it wouldn't come near. I moved up three rows to calm the girl, but 20 minutes later, the man came back to walk his dog near the people," she complains. "What's the point of a member of Civil Protection with a dog whose purpose is unknown being there?" Gema María Romero asks.

Tired of the dog's presence, a couple confronted its owner to leave, but according to this woman, the owner became "more cocky." "I decided to leave, and two families also left with us. We approached two members of Civil Protection, who told us they were training the dogs," she indicates.

However, they also went to ask the Local Police of Arrecife, who were unaware of why Civil Protection had taken several dogs to the Fairgrounds, according to this woman's account. "If I see this spectacle again, I will report Civil Protection so they can give me explanations, because they have a lack of control over their members. I want them to tell me what the dogs are doing in the Fairgrounds tent," says this indignant woman from Lanzarote.
