Several residents of Puerto del Carmen have warned of the presence of African lobsters or slipper lobsters, as they are called in the Canary Islands.
Several specimens have been seen in the tourist town over the weekend, as shown in some images sent by a reader.
"It's normal. The weather from the south is in, and some come in. Lobsters, moths...", a farmer told La Voz.
It should be remembered that Lanzarote suffered a plague in November 2004, when about two million specimens arrived from the African continent. However, at the moment there is no evidence that this time it is a plague like on that occasion.
