In an unexpected defeat, Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote could not overcome Anaitasuna, a team recently promoted to the Honor Gold Division. The mistakes in attack and the final pressure from the Navarrese decided a match that slipped away by the minimum.

Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote fell at home by 23-24 against Wise Anaitasuna in the Municipal Pavilion of San Bartolomé. Although they started dominating the scoreboard, the locals failed to maintain control of the match against a rival that took advantage of Zonzamas' moments of confusion to equalize and, finally, take the victory. The result leaves a bitter taste for the Canarians, who saw the match as an opportunity to reaffirm their good start to the season.

The match started with intensity for Zonzamas, who managed to take the lead thanks to counterattacks from Andrea Claramonte and goals from seven meters by Gleynis Reyes. However, Anaitasuna, despite being a newcomer, showed solidity and reached equality in the 20th minute with a score of 7-7. An exclusion of Sofía Ballada gave air to the locals, who achieved a two-goal advantage, but two penalties in favor of the visitors returned the tie in the 25th minute.

With the score tied, the Zonzamas coach called a timeout in the 28th minute, seeking to reorganize his attack. The break worked temporarily and the Canarian team was able to go to halftime with a 12-10 lead. However, Anaitasuna came out more determined in the second half, again leveling the score quickly and managing to get one goal ahead in the 7th minute (14-15).

The lack of success in attack began to weigh on Zonzamas, who could not distance themselves from the Navarrese. Although they maintained a slight advantage (18-17) when reaching the 15th minute, the locals still did not find the fluidity in attack they needed. This lack of precision in front of the rival goal complicated their progress on the scoreboard, and by the 24th minute, the score was 21-20.

In a high-voltage finish, Anaitasuna dealt the final blow by taking the lead on the scoreboard and maintaining pressure on Zonzamas. With the result already in their favor, the Navarrese team requested a final timeout in the 27th minute to secure their defense, a strategy that proved effective in neutralizing the locals' last attempts and sealing the victory.

With a lot of league still ahead, the batatero team has time to learn from mistakes and continue strengthening their game to achieve their season goals. Next week the team travels to Ciudad Real to face Soliss Pozuelo de Calatrava in a new opportunity to settle in the upper part of the table.
