Yeray Lemes and Samuel Vega face a new event on the automotive calendar this weekend. At the controls of the Honda Civic 1.6. Yeray Lemes faces the Maspalomas Rally, a scoring event for the Canarian Gravel Rally Championship. An event that brings back very good memories to Yeray Lemes, as it was on the Maspalomas stages where he debuted as a driver on asphalt.

The driver from Lanzarote will have a Honda Civic 1.6, which has been provided by Manuel Santana. It is a brand new car and that the Spanish Gravel Rally champion will be able to test in a completely new rally for him.

This will be Yeray Lemes' third participation in the Maspalomas Rally. Four years ago, he participated in this event and it was his first rally on asphalt. On that occasion he did it at the controls of a Renault Clio Sport from Group N. Two years later with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX from group N, he reached a place on the podium and victory in group N, counting on Rogelio Peñate as co-driver on that occasion.

"We had not planned to be in this event, but Manuel Santana has given us a Honda Civic 1.6 that he has made with great care and we are going to debut it", Lemes explained his participation in the Maspalomas Rally. Regarding the objective that Yeray Lemes sets for this rally, he comments that "the objective is to drive with the new car and I imagine that we will go from less to more".

The Maspalomas Rally will have about 90 timed kilometers, divided into three special stages, which are repeated three times to make a total of nine timed sections. The rally will start at 8 am on Saturday and the first vehicles are scheduled to arrive at the finish line around six in the afternoon. About 80 teams will take part in the Maspalomas Rally, a scoring event for the Spanish Asphalt Rally Championship.
