Yeray Lemes and Sotero Martín win the Tomás Viera Rallysprint

Yeray Lemes was once again a prophet in his homeland of Lanzarote this Saturday and continues to accumulate victories this season. This time in the Tomás Viera Rallysprint of Tinajo and again aboard his Porsche 911 GT3, where Sotero Martín was making his debut as co-driver.

The driver from Tao won all six passes (three in each direction) of the 5.6 km El Cuchillo section, leaving no room for surprise and adding all the points for the Insular Championship, where he has three out of three wins, today's and the previous ones in Haría and Teguise, so he comfortably leads the Lanzarote event.

The podium had another Porsche 911 GT3 in second position, with Oliver Rodríguez-David Rivero, who at all times took the "silver" place, always at a distance from Lemes' times, with the difference after the sum of the six sections being 32.7 seconds. On this occasion Toñín Suárez was absent, so Oliver was left in no man's land and drove without pressure and without being able to reach the leader Lemes, after a TC1 where the differences were already 9 seconds in favor of the winner in El Cuchillo.

The best times of the winning team in this section (outward and return) were 2.39.1 and 2.41.0, while the second-placed team's reference times were 2.42.1 and 2.46.5.

Good result for Roberto Hernández-Cristhofer Rijo with the Peugeot 208 Rally4, who took over the third step of the podium from the beginning. But due to the power differences between these vehicles, already more than a minute behind the Porsche.

And after the bad luck in the Era del Cardón, Rayco Rodríguez-Brian Cabrera took the Renault Clio Sport 2.0 to fourth place overall and winners of the trophy in category 2, a result that makes them the tenors of the Las Palmas Rallysprints Championship, which only lacks the event in Fuerteventura at the end of the year.

Alexander Barrios-Adriá Muñoz climbed to fifth place overall and as clear winners of category 3.

On the other hand, surprise in sixth place overall for Nahuel Hernández-Natalia Elvira with the Renault Megane Coupé. The trophy for category 1 was won by Luis Duque-Mario Guillén with the BMW 328, also first in group F and seventh overall in the rallysprint.

Jesús Machín, eighth

And only 1.4 seconds behind the previous ones, the veteran driver -mayor of Tinajo- Jesús Machín, with his daughter Naroa Machín as co-driver, who finally returned to the task in "his race" after 11 years inactive, was classified eighth. And it wasn't with a Megane, but a Renault Clio RS R3T which involves some adaptation. Even so, he didn't do badly at all, so the Lanzarote fans are clamoring for him to dust off his brand new Skoda Octavia WRC, a legendary car with which he won the Haría Hill Climb among other races on the island of volcanoes.

The group of the top ten was closed in this order by Arnaldo Umpiérrez-Javier Velázquez with the Honda Civic Type R and Jesé Ramos-Alejandro Falcón with the Renault Clio Rally5 of the cup, who wore number 1 on the doors according to their classification in the provincial event and took another handful of points for Gran Canaria.

The race organized by CD. Evesport took place on schedule and with only one serious incident, due to the road exit in TC2 of team number 7 of Rubén Rivera-Oliver Hernández with a Megane Coupe, in principle without apparent injuries.

The race ended in the town of La Vegueta with a popular barbecue offered by the Town Council of Tinajo to all participants and their assistants, just after the final trophy presentation ceremony.

The Town Council of Tinajo and Deportes-Tinajo, together with the rest of the sponsors of the Lanzarote Championship, such as the Island Council, Orvecame, CICAR, Art, Culture and Tourism Centers and Naviera Armas, are the collaborators with the organization of the CD. Evesport. From the organization they highlight "the push that this municipality gives to its two motor racing events, since after the RS comes the regional Slalom of Tinajo. In good part, thanks to the passion for this sport of its mayor Jesús Machín and the entire sports team of this town hall".
