The postponed match of the fifth day of Group XII of the Third Federation was recovered on Tuesday, with UD Lanzarote visiting CD Mensajero on the island of La Palma. The Lanzarote team was the one that proposed the most on the field, but two specific errors cost Mateo García's team the defeat. Malick put Mensajero ahead, Ismael Traore tied the match and Vianney converted a penalty in added time.
During the first thirty minutes, UD Lanzarote was the one that proposed the game on the field, being the team that dominated the situation and that made the rival uncomfortable. Meca had the best chance, with a header that did not find the three posts of the goal defended by Padilla.
CD Mensajero took the lead in the 33rd minute. A bad clearance by Adrián Machín allowed Malick to be alone in front of Ruymán, who he beat easily from below. Before the break, the locals launched a free kick through Juanda that ended up crashing into the crossbar.
In the second half, UD Lanzarote came out onto the field with the aim of going for the equalizing goal and was the team that was better on the field. The reward for the insistence would come with three minutes remaining, Ismael Traore heading a ball unmarked at the far post.
In added time, the play arrived that decided the match in favor of CD Mensajero. In a new defensive error, Malick took the ball and when he was about to face goalkeeper Ruymán he was brought down by Matheus, with the referee pointing to the maximum penalty, although the Lanzarote players claimed that the action occurred outside the area. Vianney did not forgive and made it 2-1 from the penalty spot.
Defeat for UD Lanzarote by 2 to 1 against CD Mensajero, a result that leaves the rojillo team in sixth place in the standings and the team from La Palma taking fifth position. Next Sunday, UD Lanzarote will receive Panadería Pulido San Mateo.
