Two young people from Lanzarote were awarded at the "XVIII City of Móstoles Artistic Gymnastics Tournament. IX Marco A. Vázquez Memorial". Miguel Espino and Ángel Jiménez, both 14 years old, reside in the town of Playa Honda. In the tournament held on May 9, 10 and 11, Miguel Espino was the first classified in Artistic Gymnastics, floor modality, and first classified in the jump modality, also obtaining third place in the general classification. For his part, Ángel Jiménez was the second classified in both the floor and jump modalities.
The two young gymnasts, who belong to the Isla de Lanzarote Club and whose coach is Francisco Rodríguez Santana, competed with numerous athletes from different Autonomous Communities.
The Councilor for Education, Culture, Heritage, Youth and Sports, Mª Dolores Corujo, wanted to convey on behalf of the Government Group of San Bartolomé, her "congratulations and congratulations".
"We are proud that two young residents in our municipality leave the Lanzarote flag so high, something that is only achieved with the determination, effort and good work of an entire team, as this sports club has demonstrated," says the councilor.
