Last weekend the Regional Children's and Junior Winter Swimming Championship was held, where around twenty Canary swimming clubs met at the C.N. Metropole facilities in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
In the championship, the first in the post-pandemic era, it was an essential requirement to accredit minimum marks stipulated by the Canary Swimming Federation. "You could see a great level of Canary swimming in the children's and junior categories," they point out from the Nonadamos Sports Club.
"Two days of championship with four intense sessions in which the Nonadamos Sports Club was present with 7 swimmers who participated in a total of 15 events. In ten of them they improved their personal bests", they point out from the Club.
It is worth highlighting the great role of the swimmer Ariadna Sarabia, who was Regional Children's Runner-up in the 50 and 200 meter backstroke events and was just a few hundredths of a second away from third place in the 100 meter backstroke. In addition, her great marks have qualified her to participate in the Absolute Regional Championship that will be held on March 3, 4 and 5 at the Acidalio Lorenzo Municipal Pool in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
