When all the teams on our Island are about to begin pre-season training, the Tinajo Construcciones Guadayca Wrestling Club is having trouble participating in the senior category next season, as attempts to secure the services of several players to form a worthy squad have failed. For this reason, the president of the management team of the Tinajo Wrestling Club, Félix Morales, informed the Island Federation of Lanzarote last Tuesday of this team's decision not to participate in the senior category in the coming season.
While it is true that it was very difficult for Tinajo Construcciones Guadayca to come out with a competitive team this season, first because of the time elapsed without making the key signings to ensure the continuity of this team, second because of the increased cost of the wrestlers this season, and third, and most importantly, because the new directors, despite being clear that they were not going to participate in the senior category this season, did not openly communicate it so that other people who might be interested in this club could take charge of it, the light had never gone out and many still hoped that they could form a team.
In the two months since they took office, the new management board of this team has had the possibility of signing first the brothers Eliser and Pedrito Gutiérrez, of whom it was said that if they left the island of Tenerife, they would sign for Tinajo Construcciones Guadayca. To these wrestlers we must add failed contacts with Ramón Pérez, Juan Carlos Marichal and the "B" point Miguel Ángel Marichal, although the latter, due to his category, the teams and the federation refused that this wrestler could fight on our island. And the last failures were the wrestler from the island of Gran Canaria Efrén Medina, who was even on our island but the signing was not closed. In this case it could be due to the lack of seriousness of this wrestler who accepted a better offer from Fuerteventura.
The same situation occurred with the majorero wrestlers, the brothers Ramón, Fernando and Armando Ávila, who finally signed on their island.
At this moment Tinajo Construcciones Guadayca has the following senior wrestlers, who are committed but not signed, and who are the "C" point Óscar Pérez, and the unclassified wrestlers Josué Cedres, Cesar Fernández and Carmelo Montelongo.
Friendly fights for this month in Punta Mujeres and Uga
Next Wednesday, September 7, in the town of Punta Mujeres (Haría), and on the occasion of the Pino festivities, a friendly fight will be held between Unión Norte Orvecame and San Bartolomé Construcciones Acosta. The fight, which will be the first friendly match between these two teams, and which may be a way to measure them in view of the league that begins in early October, seems quite interesting.
Both teams have for this fight with their most important wrestlers, among which are the northerners, Juan Carlos Marichal, Pepe Martel, Agustín Mayor, Goyo Hernández and Darío Betancort; while for San Bartolomé Construcciones Acosta will be Efraín Perera, Roberto Berriel, Francis Aisa, Valentín Elvira "Valentín I", José Alfredo Mendoza and Enrique Hormiga.
On the other hand, the José Parrilla triangular tournament to be held on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of this month of September, closes with the teams of Unión Sur Yaiza Grupo Rosa organizing team, in addition to Unión Norte Orvecame and Tao Cicar.
