Few hours remain for the town of Arrieta (Lanzarote) to host a boxing evening of great level. Robert Hilario "Tiburón" and Iván Salcines, two boxers who will fight to win the Spanish champion belt of the "Super Middleweight" weight, will face each other on the ring. On Thursday night, one of the previous events of the FinessMania Spanish Boxing Championship took place, with the official weigh-in of the boxers who will participate in Friday's evening. The scale marked 75.5 kilos for Robert Hilario "Tiburón" and 75 kilos for the aspirant Iván Salcines. The great boxing event is tonight starting at 9:00 p.m. at the Arrieta School (Haría).
The facilities of FitnessManía, a company dedicated to sports nutrition, was the stage chosen to carry out the official weigh-in of the boxers who will participate in the Spanish Boxing Championship evening. Before going through the scale, the boxers were put in the hands of doctor Francisco Miguel Barroso, who was in charge of carrying out the medical examination of each of the boxers. A necessary medical check-up to be able to participate in a boxing evening.
Later, the boxers went up to the scale to prove their weight and that it was within the limits of the category to which they belong. The stellar moment of the night would come with the weigh-in of Robert Hilario "Tiburón" and Iván Salcines, boxers who in ten rounds, of three minutes each, are playing for the Spanish champion belt of the "Super Middleweight" weight. The current Spanish champion, Robert Hilario "Tiburón", gave a weight of 75.5 kilos and the aspirant Iván Salcines 75 kilos.
The anecdote of the official weigh-in was starred by Ionel Chiruta, a boxer who will dispute one of the two professional fights of the evening and will face Roberto Palenzuela, a boxer who belongs to the Palenke Boxing School. In the first attempt he gave a weight on the scale of 73.3 kilos, 900 grams above the weight allowed for middleweight. Ionel Chiruta, a boxer who comes from defeating Rubén Varón, aspirant to the European Championship, had to perform different exercises to lose weight. Finally, he established a weight of 72.7 kilos.
José Díaz Bencomo, president of the Canary Islands Boxing Federation, and Domingo Matos, vice president of the Spanish Boxing Federation and President of the Spanish Professional Boxing Committee, were in charge of validating the weigh-in of each of the boxers. The judges and main referee of the evening were also present at the event, a task that will be carried out by Santurnino Díaz (Judge), Lázaro Carrasco (Judge), Alfonso Monroy (Judge) and Ignacio Conejero (Referee).
The president of the Canary Islands Boxing Federation, José Luis Bencomo, predicted that it will be "a very even Spanish Championship". "Tiburón is superior and Iván Salcines is a very dangerous rival and is well prepared, and this is still boxing in which anything can happen", explained José Luis Bencomo. About the boxing evening that will be experienced in Arrieta, he commented that "it is a great evening, in which we will see great fights and boxers who will give everything on the ring". The president of the Canary Islands Boxing Federation wanted to highlight the participation of Ciriano Lorenzo and Ángel Yarnnik Cabrera, two boxers who have been Spanish champions in the cadet category.
Everything is prepared in Arrieta to host tonight the FitnessMania Spanish Boxing Championship, an evening that for the first time in history is held in the municipality of Haría. The event will be from 9:00 p.m., opening the doors for fans from eight in the afternoon.
