The pre-season tests are over, starting next Sunday the official season of the Rotax 2014 Series. The Zuera circuit, in Zaragoza, hosts the first official event and the Team BRT-Tony Kart team will be there, with the participation of the Lanzarote native José María Reina at the head. Reina faces a season full of hope, with many months of preparation to get the kart ready and with the aim of fighting for the final victory. A victory that would allow him to be in Brazil in November for the World Championship.
The members of the Team BRT-Tony Kart team traveled last weekend to the Vendrell circuit (Barcelona), fine-tuning the "Tony Kart Racer EVK-2014" that José María Reina will drive this season. It was a weekend of hard work, completing nearly 90 kilometers of training with different configurations in the kart, in order to know the best behavior of the kart in both fast and slow areas. The entire team worked hard to get everything ready for the imminent start of the official season.
The Lanzarote pilot competes this season in the DD2 category and it will be next Sunday, March 23, when the starting flag is waved for the campaign. The Zuera circuit (Zaragoza) hosts the premiere of the Rotax 2014 Series, a competition that will consist of a total of six scoring races. José María Reina will wear number 524 this season.
The Team BRT-Tony Kart team will arrive in Zaragoza on Friday, with the intention of participating in free practice during the afternoon. Saturday will be focused on finding the best configuration of the kart, a configuration that will depend on the characteristics of the track and the training tests that will be carried out on Friday afternoon. Without a doubt, it will be an intense weekend in Zaragoza that will culminate on Sunday morning with official practice and the two races. The qualifying session has been scheduled for 11:55 a.m. and the two official heats will be at 1:30 p.m. and 3:25 p.m.
The Zuera circuit has a length of 1,700 meters and a straight of 180 meters. José María Reina comments that "special attention will have to be paid to the first corners of the circuit, since the grid will be made up of a total of 32 drivers and some incident could occur". The Zaragoza circuit has a total of 16 corners, 11 on the right and 5 on the left.
To face this ambitious season, José María Reina has the support of the Team BRT-Tony Kart team, Grouplance, Turismo Lanzarote, Arrecife City Council, Televisión Canaria and LanzaroteDeportiva.com. All the information about the Canary Islands driver can be found on his website (www.jreina24.es).
