Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" visited the Municipal Pavilion of Fontecarmoa, in Vilagarcía de Arousa, to face Mariscos Antón Cortegada. Jesús García's team did it with as many casualties as enthusiasm, with the firm purpose of fighting for a victory that would help them climb positions in the standings.

The match could not have started worse for the Lanzarote interests. The Galicians started the match with great intensity and managed to nullify the island attacks, which were lost in erroneous shots. There were still 6' 38'' left when the local team was winning 10-0, forcing the Lanzarote bench to ask for a time-out, which, after returning to the court, ended the scoring drought with a three-pointer by Leonor Serralheiro, allowing her team to open the scoring.

It was the reaction that Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" needed, which little by little reduced the differences in the score, ending the first quarter with a score of 15 to 11.

The island defense was accentuated in the second quarter, forcing the hosts to look for distant shots that did not find the points. However, the errors in the rebounds allowed the Galicians to have a second or third chance, converting some of them to be able to put land in between again.

Carolina Mateo's third personal foul, in the middle of the second quarter, was a problem that the Lanzarote bench had to deal with, opting to leave the captain on the bench to reserve her for the second half. As if that were not enough, Leonor Serralheiro, with a blow to the hip, could not participate again from the first quarter and the Lanzarote team was left with practically what they had. The difference, despite the problem that arose, was maintained thanks to the work that the island team was doing in a choral way.

Francisco Javier Nogueira asked for a time-out with the score at 27 to 21 with 2' 31'' left to reach the break, serving the islanders to rest and clarify ideas. The 6-point difference was maintained until the end of the second quarter, with the players going to the locker room with the score at 29 to 23.

The return to the court was a very hopeful start for the Lanzarote team, who with a partial score of 0 to 4 in 3 minutes, gave wings to believe in turning the electronic scoreboard around. Eli Dabou, little by little, returned to remember the player who surprised game after game last season, with as many points as rebounds and work, leading her teammates to believe in the options.

Jesús García's team had several opportunities to tie the game, when the Galician advantage was two and when it was three. However, the decisive shots did not want to go in, with Sara Corredoira scoring a three-pointer with 2' 51'' left, putting the score at 37 to 31 and forcing the Lanzarote bench to ask for a time-out. Far from getting back into the game, Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence", it was Mariscos Antón Cortegada who began to feel more comfortable and in control of the situation, extending the differences, reaching the end of the quarter with a score of 42 to 31, the biggest Galician advantage so far.

The last quarter started with defensive intensity from both teams, although it was the island team that took advantage, keeping their rival without any points for more than two and a half minutes, while gradually reducing the difference. As the minutes passed, the forces were weakening and Cortegada took advantage of this to score their first points and give the Lanzarote team another blow, with the Canary Islands bench asking for a time-out with 6' 24'' left until the end and with the score at 46 to 39 for the peninsulars.

Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" was staying within the game. The baskets of Iranzu Drake and the work, both defensive and offensive of Carolina Mateo, as well as the spark of Lade Adepoju allowed the 11-point advantage at the beginning of the quarter to run out with 3' 43'' left, when Eli Dabou achieved the tie at 48.

The emotion was served. Cortegada took the lead and Yaiza Betancort tied again. The Galicians, with 2' 30'' left, scored again for 52 to 50 and a free throw made the situation more complicated for the islanders, who responded with two points from Iranzu to leave the game again with the minimum difference, with one minute to play. However, two more free throws for the locals and the visiting precipitations were complicating the comeback, with time, which was passing inexorably against the interests of Lanzarote.

With 20 seconds left, Iranzu managed to score and put the score at 55 to 54. The pressure on the ball output made the islanders steal the ball, with Iranzu being the reason for a personal foul, with two free throws for the Madrid player of the Canary team, who scored both, turning the score around with 7 seconds left. It was the first time that Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" had taken the lead on the scoreboard. Fran Nogueira asked for a time-out, Mariscos Antón Cortegada had to give it everything and defend, like wildcats, the minimum difference, the team of Jesús García.

On the return to the court, the Lanzarote team stole the ball and let time pass. She was the victim of a personal foul that Iranzu was in charge of shooting and, although none of the two shots went in, the score closed 55 to 56, signing the victory for the red and black players.

Magec Tías "Against Gender Violence" thus achieves the seventh victory of the season. Next week the island team receives Ausarta Barakaldo EST in the Municipal Pavilion of Tías, on Saturday, at 7:00 p.m.
