Success of the Canary Islands Federation in the I Artistic Swimming Championship by Autonomous Communities in the children's category.
Intense day experienced last Sunday, May 7, where the Canary Islands artistic swimming team won a second place, among the 12 that competed, making it the Spanish Runner-up by autonomous selections.
The competition opened at 7.30 in the morning, with the warm-up for the figures competition, where our swimmers achieved good results, especially considering that they compete against athletes who are in High Performance Centers, the club reports.
After the figures competition, the women's and mixed duets took place, where after a good representation of our duets, we reached our first podium with "Vega Martínez and Eduardo Curbelo", both swimmers from the CD Pingüinos de Arrecife, obtaining the bronze medal in mixed duet, they report.
In the afternoon, it was time for the women's and men's solos, competing at a high level the athletes from the Canary Islands and reaching a new podium our swimmer "Eduardo Curbelo, hanging his second bronze medal" of this Spanish Championship by Communities.
"The good work of all the swimmers of the Canary Islands Federation, made it remain in second position of the Spanish Championship", they admit.
Congratulations to the entire team, led by Sara Gijón, coach of CD Pingüinos de Arrecife and technical manager, to her 10 swimmers and the rest of the coaches of the different Clubs of the Canary Islands, concludes the club.
