The Cabildo celebrates the success of Yonathan Umpiérrez in the Spanish BTT Championship

The Local Police officer has been crowned champion of the Canary Islands and Spain in the Master 40 A category and finished third in the general classification

The agent from Yaiza and member of the Triyaiza team has been crowned champion of the Canary Islands and Spain in the Master 40 A category and finished third in the general classification. Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, received the Local Police officer from Yaiza and member of the Triyaiza team, Yonathan Umpiérrez, to congratulate him on the successes achieved in the last 'Spanish BTT Championship' for Local Police.

Both personally conveyed their congratulations for having been crowned champion of the Canary Islands and Spain in the Master 40A category and for having finished third in the overall general classification of this mountain bike event.

Oswaldo Betancort congratulated Yonathan Umpiérrez and highlighted the "work and sacrifice" made over a long time to achieve a difficult goal, "which is why the athlete, the club and the Island should be proud".

For his part, Juan Monzón expressed his satisfaction with the agent's role in carrying Lanzarote as a flag in a national competition and wished him "all the luck" in future personal and sporting challenges, "such as a possible European Championship in which Umpiérrez could participate and in which we trust that he will arrive with his best level".
