UD Lanzarote was unable to play this past weekend's match against Unión Puerto, after several positive cases of covid19 were detected in the rojillo team. The squad already has its sights set on next Sunday's match against UD Las Palmas “C”, a match in which the coaching staff will not be able to count on the participation of Rubo. The striker has been discharged from the UD Lanzarote squad.
Rubén Blanco “Rubo” informed at the end of last week of his intention to leave the discipline of UD Lanzarote, stating personal reasons for making the decision. The club's sports management and the coaching staff jointly assessed the footballer's proposal, deciding to process the player's federative discharge.
Striker Rubo arrived last summer to the discipline of UD Lanzarote from Bruno´s Magpies of Gibraltar. Since his arrival at the rojillo club he has participated in 13 official matches, 12 of them jumping onto the field in the starting eleven, and playing a total of 1,044 minutes. He has been the author of 5 goals in the first part of the season, 2 of them materialised from the penalty spot.
From UD Lanzarote they wish the player "the best of luck in his immediate professional future and thank him for his time with the rojillo team this season".
