The strike of the workers of the company that is dedicated to the maintenance of the sports facilities of Arrecife, will affect the normal development of the competitions planned for Friday. Several matches have had to be suspended by the Island Delegation of Lanzarote due to the lack of facilities. The First Regional is the most affected, with the postponement of two matches of the thirteenth day.
The workers of the company Volconsa, in charge of the conservation, maintenance, cleaning and concierge of the sports facilities of Arrecife and the Sociocultural Centers, have called a strike day for this Friday. The decision has been communicated on the afternoon of this Thursday by the workers, motivated by the delay they are suffering in the collection of their payrolls. Currently they are owed the monthly payment for the month of January.
In addition, workers cannot normally develop their usual work, as the company in charge of the service does not supply its workers with the necessary material for it. In some sports facilities, public services are closed, due to the lack of toilet paper. They also do not have the necessary liquids for cleaning the changing rooms of sports venues.
The Arrecife City Council was informed on the afternoon of this Thursday that the workers in charge of these services have called a strike for Friday. A strike that will affect several matches of official competitions that were scheduled for Friday afternoon. The clashes that were scheduled at the Agapito Reyes Viera in Altavista and the Municipal in Argana will be affected.
In the First Regional, the match that was to face Altavista CF against Sporting Tías and the match between CD Tite and Haría CF have been postponed. The Island Football Delegation of Lanzarote tried to move these two matches to Saturday afternoon, a circumstance that could not be possible as the designation of the referees was closed.
In the lower categories, the match between Torrelavega and CD Tinajo, corresponding to the 18th day of the Preferred Cadet, and the duel between CD Tite and Orientación Marítima "B", corresponding to the fourteenth day of the First Cadet, have been postponed. In the Island Veterans League, the duel between Los Zocos and Playa Blanca, which was to be played at the San Francisco Javier facilities, has also had to be postponed.
