CD Santa Úrsula and UD Lanzarote faced each other on Saturday afternoon. Two teams that have practically run out of options to fight for the top two places in the group and fight for promotion to the Second Division RFEF. The Rojillos were superior to the Tenerife team, although the dominance did not translate into goals. In the final stretch of the match, Miguel Ángel put Santa Úrsula ahead and Rosmen rescued a point for the Lanzarote team.
UD Lanzarote dominated in the first half, having good approaches to achieve the first goal of the match. CD Santa Úrsula found it difficult to get close to Alejandro's domains, and as a result, the Tenerife team barely had any shots on goal during the first 45 minutes of play.
One of the clearest chances for the visitors came in the 20th minute, Ayoze Pérez won the back line, put in a good cross for Rodrigo to finish and goalkeeper Juanje responded with a good save. The score was 0-0 at half-time at the Argelio Tabares stadium.
The second half of the match was much more balanced, with UD Lanzarote not allowing their rival to get close with danger. In the 69th minute, Josua Benítez headed a corner kick, sending the ball over the crossbar of the goal defended by Juanje.
CD Santa Úrsula took the lead in the 78th minute, when Miguel Ángel headed in a corner kick. Before this action, UD Lanzarote claimed a clear penalty for a push on Giovanni when he was about to finish a ball that had crashed into the crossbar of the goal.
At the edge of the end of the match, UD Lanzarote equalized. A free kick hung in the heart of the area was headed by Rosmen into the back of the net, achieving the reward for the great work that the team had done throughout the 90 minutes of play.
A one-goal draw between CD Santa Úrsula and UD Lanzarote, a result that does little for both teams. In the next match, the Rojillos will face CD Tenerife “B” at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
