The seventh edition of the Tinajo YouTrail already has new winners, with the arrival of Rafael Yánez, who managed to stop the clock at 2:38:41; and Silvia Caso who was the fastest in the women's category with a time of 3:17:11, both winners of the main modality (33km) in a sporting event that had much more.
The spectacular atmosphere that occurred from the preliminaries to the Tinajo YouTrail, whose starting gun started with the main race of the 33km circuit. Thus began one of the most acclaimed events by trail lovers, with a large number of fans gathered in the esplanade of the Ermita de los Dolores who wanted to enjoy the rest of the modalities as spectators, including some runners who were still without competing, waiting for their category to begin. Thus, at 10:30 a.m. it was the turn for the runners of the
14km circuit, to give way later, at 11:00 a.m., to the 8km modality.
With all the participants in full competition, images were once again given for the memory with the municipality of Tinajo lending itself to the impressive images to which it has accustomed us with emblematic locations such as the Montañas del Fuego, Caldera Blanca, the coast of Tenesar or the Montaña de San Roque. Environment and organizational quality that have made it a valid test of the Canarian Cup and Mountain Race Championship, in addition to being part of the Tinajo Popular Race Cup, and which the rest of the 33km podium components were able to enjoy, with Nayra Noble (3:23:24) and Judit Enríquez (3:53:42), in that order in the women's category; and Daniel Eliecer Sosa (2:44:59) and Laureano Sobral (2:47:25), in the men's category.
For the mayor of Tinajo, Suso Machín, the event “exports what the municipality offers 365 days a year and, without a doubt, it is an event that benefits the local economy for several days. Thanks to all those who have made it possible for this event to be a success again, to the Sports staff of the Tinajo City Council and, of course, to the volunteers, thanks to all of them.”. For his part, the Councilor for Sports, Vianney Rodríguez, highlights that “the event has been consolidated within the regional circuit and on the island it is a benchmark event. We thank the participants for continuing to trust in this event and the public and private institutions that have once again supported our work.”
Edwin Camacho (55:23) and Tracy Louise (1:12:38) were also champions of the 14km route. In the women's category of this one, the silver went to Sara Rivas (1:14:51), and the bronze to Rosa Castellano (1:17:02). Feat that Aithami Brito (55:36) and Ruymán Martín (56:28) also achieved, respectively in the men's category.
The classification in the 8km race was led by Hugo Pérez (33:24) and Cristina Capitán (39:22). The women's podium was completed by Inmaculada Bejarano (47:56) and Marta Bazán (48:15); while Matías Huertas (34:11) and David Atienza (34:49) did the same in the men's.
The awards ceremony and the performance of DGT STARS put the finishing touch on the Mancha Blanca esplanade, with the historic Ermita de los Dolores as a backdrop, waiting for the next edition next year, which promises a new success.
